Our volunteer professionals are a vital part of this ministry. Physicians, dentists, nurses, dental hygienists and pharmacists volunteer their time, talents and treasures caring for those who many times fall through the cracks in our healthcare system.
Non-medical volunteers are also indispensable to our ministry. Volunteers assist in a variety of ways from clerical aid to fundraising, providing for specific needs in areas of technology, building maintenance, equipment repair and many others.
We are supported by a growing network of churches throughout Sullivan and Hawkins counties in Tennessee and Scott County, Virginia. Churches assist in many ways, including prayer for our patients, staff and volunteers.

Services provided at FRIENDS IN NEED are by appointment only and are provided for a discount off the normal fees for these services, based on the sliding fee scale percentage for the patient”
